Don't Panic!

It looks bad but I have to agree with Andrew Strauss, this is not time for panic. England always have one disaster in the series and we need to pray that this was it, I would remind you of our innings defeat in the test at Headingly in 2009, after which we went on to win. In 2005 we lost badly at Lords before then taking 2 of the last 4, and arguably should have been 3 if we'd managed to force a win at Old Trafford.

Of course last time we were in Australia we managed to back up our one disaster test with 4 more, so it will be interesting that's for sure.

Hey Dave,

The rain saved you on the last series. We all know that.....

Your examples are fair however they are in England.

Generally speaking Australia has a great record in Perth & Brisbane. Coming into the 4th Test it is usually all but over. Not the case in this series. Melbourne & Sydney (in particular) should be OK for England.

I am a little concerned that our Vics had England on the ropes in Melbourne a week of so ago though.

England side is better than a few years ago. That is for sure.

The upside for our boys is that they have bowled on average 50% less than your boys. Massive issues for Finn who they are saying was walking like he had a 'pair of stiletto's' on at the end of the match. Tremlett will struggle in Melbourne. So that brings only J Anderson & Swann to carry the burden.

Shane Watson did not even bowl in this match so again upside in our bowling. I think there is upside in the batting also as our top players have not made runs - that will not continue.

I just hope England have not peaked too early on this tour.

Time will tell.....

I need to buy my tickets today. They are saying there is going to be over 90,000 people there and maybe one of the biggest crowds in the last 50 years at MCG.

Welcome to Melbourne - home of sport attendance. I think the Barmy Army may be a little overwhelmed this week.

Luke, you were there, were the Barmy Army overwhelmed, I thought I saw a few empty seats in the last 2 hours and I could detect a bit of singing from the lads?
