Looking ahead, Collingwood is looking like a walking wicket, but his fielding and support bowling will keep him in the team but surely Bell must go above him in the order? Hussey has gone from not being selected to being Man of the Series for Australia, it will be interesting to see who comes back in as a spinner for Australia and who gets dropped for the next test. On the bowling front Tremmlet has secured himself a berth for the rest of the series. As Swanny is struggling to get wickets maybe he can weigh in with some runs tomorrow.
This is probably one of the most talked about Test Series since 2005 with England having a genuine chance of winning down under for the first time in 20 years. Our contributors are from England and Australia which should make for some spiky debates about the relative merits of the events as they unfold.

Batting Yips are Back!
Another great performance by England's (and Australia's) bowlers let down by the batting, how many times have we said over the last few years. It does show how hard it is to win abroad, which does mean that our performance in the first two tests maybe didn't get the praise it deserved. In classic Australian conditions and with the Aussies finding the answer to their spin problems, ie dont bother, they bowled really well as a unit. If asked I suspect England would have taken 569/20 as Australia's total before the game and would have expected to get the runs needed. With two days to go the draw is now not an option, Australia will be expecting to win easily, probably by lunchtime tomorrow. The only positive glimmer for England is that Bell would probably be the batsman you'd want in at the moment. Arise Sir Ian, this is your moment to be a legend!

So was it all down to England's poor batting rather than one of the great Australian line & length bowling of all time.......
Pathetic. Give credit where credit is due to Harris & Johnson in particular.
You talk about how convincing you were in the first test? What are you talking about. We finished the first test 1-120.....
I Bell, M Prior, Swan and so on. They all failed. In all honesty they were beaten by class bowling.
Hey Dave,
I meant to say also. England bowled poorly yesterday morning to Hussey & Watson. We took the game away from you effectively.....
England bowled much better in the day however it was all over by then.
Good bowling in good conditions, with Johnson aiming at the stumps rather than 2nd slip it does make a difference. I still don't think you could have changed much about England's bowling, Australia's totals were modest and we took 20 wickets in reasonable time. England batted poorly after being put under pressure by Johnson, credit where it's due. But it's Australia who will make bowling changes not England, they wont take 4 seamers to Melbourne will they?
No. They will not take 4 seamers to Melbourne. They would be mad, unless they are relying on S Smith to bowl (I still think he needs more long term spells of bowling and not quite there yet - Australia are aware of this). The suggestion is that Siddle comes out for Beer.
You will make changes also as Steve Finn is struggling based on reports. Tremlett will stuggle in Melbourne also as does not move the bowl much.
England bowling was too short when it counted. Saying they had 20 wickets is true however the whole test was over in just over 3 days, so there was a bit in the pitch.
My suggestion is that England should of bowled us out much earlier as Australias win was convincing.
Again - I will say this. I think you are a bowler short over the course of the 5 tests. Your batting line up failed however they have been pretty good.
After all the arguments that Australia cannot bowl teams out cheaply this has now turned to being Englands main concern. We have not been bowled out for around 250 as yet......
There is a lot riding on Anderson & Swann here....
