This is probably one of the most talked about Test Series since 2005 with England having a genuine chance of winning down under for the first time in 20 years. Our contributors are from England and Australia which should make for some spiky debates about the relative merits of the events as they unfold.

congrats where they are due
Well, well, well.... typical Englanders getting ahead of themselves (myself included). Just when I think we can't undo the good work done, we do. How often I have spoken with others about the Australian ability to turn a match or a series in one session of cricket. I don't for a minute think this game is over (and I would take a draw as we stand) but Johnson (who looked like a farmer chucking potatoes 2 weeks ago) grasped his opportunities well and bowled like a diamond...It hurts, but this must be better for everyone - a good tight contest and a juicy bit of cricket over the next few weeks...a cracking response from Australia. Dead and buried my arse........

'This must be better for everyone'......don't believe for a moment you mean this mate - you would love to rub our noses in it............
Wouldn't want you to give our boys too much praise either.
Your boys were thorougly scared by Johnson yesterday. Forget about getting ahead yourself mate....he was just too good yesterday.
The problem with Johnson according to McGrath is that he needs to minimise between his good & bad. It is a big issue that we need to solve as he is fundamental now to winning this test.
You're absolutely right Luke, it's only the media that tell you it's good for the series, I'd have taken 3 rained off test matches and a 1-0 win. And by the way I dont think Australia have made a comeback yet, they would have loved the option to declare in the second innings but were bowled out again.
And Australia now have 5 batters in the team who can't bat for more than half an hour: Hughes, Ponting, Clarke, Smith and Harris!
Hey Dave,
That is about 25 minutes longer than your batting line up.
Be very careful about talking about our batting until you see the opposition bat. In this case your mob, England?
Naturally there was a bit in the wicket right?
I think it is a wonderful effort considering both Ponting and Clarke failed.
When analysing the scores we beat your wonderful battling line up in both innings convincingly. In cricket that all that matters.
Your tail looks a bit long with Broad out of the side. Also, you are a bowler short mate.
You have not bowled us out for under 250 runs yet......
We still have a stack of work to do with the side. I reckon you might also.....they looked a bit timid.
I totally disagree with you Luke. I would rather England beat a good Australian side than having a non-contest series of matches. For me, this is the highest form of the game - amongst all of the sports that I love to follow. At it best it has twists and turns, momentum swings and drama. Success and failure can hang on a wicket, a catch or a moment of magic. To see Australia struggle in these games has brought great joy and if we are to retain the ashes now, after our 'no-show' with the bat today, then the pleasure will be even greater. You have to ask yourself - do England have the ability to win a test match, just one, over the next 3 weeks ? If you go on to win the series, then you'll deserve to win the Ashes, it's as simple as that - only a fool would think for a minute that we have seen the last of the drama, momentum swings, twists and turns.
